Inside the Appointment

9 August 2015 · Headlines Hairdressing, Singapore

Some time had passed since my last appointment with Charles, and my hair was in serious need of help. My previous Hidden Highlights look, also done by Charles, had faded, so this visit was the natural moment to switch things up with a fresh style.

The goal was a soft Korean C Curl finish using Headlines Hairdressing’s Dyna Curl & Straight service — a perm-straightening hybrid that allows hair to be styled curly one day and straight the next, depending on how it is blow-dried.

You can find Headlines Hairdressing online via their website at www.headlines.com.sg or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/headlines.sg.

A good haircut is rarely just about the length taken off. For many people, the salon visit is a reset moment, a chance to restore shine, address damage, and redefine shape after weeks of styling, humidity, or simply the everyday wear of city routines. Readers often weigh their options between a full colour service, a targeted treatment, or a quick tidy trim, and the choice usually comes down to current hair condition, lifestyle demands, and the kind of finish they want to wake up with on ordinary mornings. A clear consultation helps avoid disappointment and sets realistic expectations for how the hair will look once washed and dried at home, especially in tropical weather where frizz and flyaways are a constant concern.

Treatment menus can feel overwhelming at first glance, with terms like rebonding, perming, smoothing, and hybrid curl services each promising a different kind of result. Rather than chasing a single trending label, it helps to focus on what the hair actually needs, whether that is deep conditioning, a shape refresh, or a styling change that offers more day-to-day flexibility. A skilled stylist will usually suggest a plan that protects the integrity of the strands while still delivering the aesthetic shift the client wants. Between appointments, gentle home care, sensible heat habits, and regular trims go a long way toward keeping the style looking intentional rather than grown out, allowing the next salon visit to feel like a thoughtful update rather than a corrective fix.

What I Took Away

Across multiple visits, Charles has consistently shaped how my hair looks and how I think about colour. The Dyna Curl & Straight approach is interesting because it does not lock hair into one shape — it gives options day to day.
